According to the Detroit Free Press (by way of Murmurs.com) R.E.M. is going to play a series of concerts to raise money for John Kerry. Sprinsteen, Mellencamp, and Dylan have also been mentioned, but R.E.M. seems to be the most concrete name out there.
 
There will be 6 to 10 shows in all, "likely including New York, Los Angeles and Cleveland," according to the paper, in addition to Detroit. Who wants to put money on whether or not any of these shows will be in DC?
